In the old days when Stonington was home to a long tradition of seafood business - canned sardines and salted fish - this vibrant industry provided employment for many residents of this island community. Our Stonington Smokehouse was founded in part
to acknowledge and honor Stonington's strong fishing and processing heritage and to continue the tradition of providing year round work to our island neighbors.

The unique combination of Richard Penfold's years of fish smoking skills learned in the Shetland Isles, along with Stonington’s strong fishing heritage, make Stonington Sea Products unique among Maine's top quality smokehouses.

Only the freshest and best fish is used by Stonington Sea Products: and our smoked fish is never frozen.

In the summer months customers can enjoy the fresh fish shop located at the smokehouse in Stonington, mail orders are shipped out fresh daily.
